These convictions shape how we worship, how we serve, and how we love our city.

At Evolve, we believe the church should grow to meet every generation while staying rooted in timeless truth. Our beliefs aren't a checklist, they're the foundation for a life fully alive in Christ.

01 · Scripture

The Bible

The Bible is God's word to humanity, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is truth without any mixture of error and completely relevant to our daily lives.

02 · Doctrine

The Trinity

God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity — one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each member possesses equal power and authority.

03 · God

The Father

God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. He is our Father — loving, compassionate, and eternally faithful to His people and His promises. In Him we live, move, and exist.

04 · Christ

Jesus Christ

Jesus is completely human and completely God. He lived a perfect life, died as our substitute, and rose from the dead — making it possible for all of us to be restored to God.

05 · Spirit

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit guides believers into truth, convicts people of sin, comforts us, and gives spiritual gifts. Evidence of His presence is seen in the fruit He produces in our lives.

06 · Grace

Salvation

Salvation is a gift of grace — not earned through our own efforts, but received through faith in Christ's death and resurrection. The blood of Jesus is the only way of forgiveness.

07 · Community

The Church

The Church is a local community of baptized believers unified through faith in Christ — working together in love and unity to bring the Gospel to the world and glorify Christ.

08 · Connection

Prayer

Prayer is our direct line of communication with God. Through Jesus, we can come to the Father personally. No meaningful work happens without prayer preceding and continuing through it.

09 · Obedience

Baptism

Baptism is a symbolic act to publicly declare one's salvation. We practice full-immersion baptism, symbolizing the death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us.

10 · Remembrance

Communion

Communion is a sacred time when the bread and cup express the body and blood of Christ. Believers take communion in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

11 · Power

Divine Healing

We believe God's supernatural power to heal is still for today. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and prayer, Jesus can heal our earthly bodies and restore wholeness.

12 · Hope

Eternity

Man was created to exist forever — either eternally separated from God by sin, or in eternal union with God through salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

More of What We Believe

Expanding on the foundations of our faith

Man is made in the image of God — the supreme object of His creation. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Man became separated from God through sinful disobedience, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ.

Repentance is a commitment to turn away from sin in every area of life and follow Christ. Through repentance we individually receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation.

The five-fold ministry positions of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are gifts given to each local church and the universal church. These gifts are for equipping believers to spread the gospel. We believe both men and women are sovereignly chosen by God for these ministry positions.

We believe that as part of Christ's work of salvation, it is the Father's will for believers to become whole, healthy, and successful in all areas of life which includes: spiritually, mentally and emotionally, physically, and financially. God desires His people to flourish in every dimension.

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His authority. This will occur at a time undisclosed by scripture. So we live every day in expectation of Christ's return.

The irrefutable principles that guide how we live, lead, and serve

We believe the church should evolve to meet the needs of every generation, culture, and context.

We have faith in God, faith in people, and faith for miracles.

We use our hands to show our hearts.

Adopted in January 2024, our Constitution and Bylaws define who we are, what we believe, and how we are governed as a body of believers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Rooted in the Word, accountable to one another.

Constitution & Bylaws

We, the Members of Evolve Church of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in Order To Establish Rules and Procedures With Which To Administer This Independent Local Assembly, Do Ordain and Establish the Following Constitution and Bylaws to Which We Voluntarily Submit Ourselves.

Whereas we, being an incorporate body of people of like precious faith:

    Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life through His death and the power of His resurrection.
  • 2
    Believe the Bible to be God's word and the revelation of His will to man and accept it as our rule for faith and conduct.
  • 3
    Believe Christian fellowship, mutual edification and evangelical effort, in the form of local churches, is God's ordained order for His people.
  • 4
    Believe each church is to assemble together for worship, fellowship, counsel, and instruction in the Word of God, and the work of the ministry.
  • 5
    Believe each church should exercise the gifts and offices provided for in the New Testament to obtain the Christian goal.
  • 6
    Believe God has called and anointed us to emphasize the fullness of the Gospel through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, we have accepted and adopted the following Statement of Fundamental Truths and Constitution. We shall seek, by the grace of God, to be governed by the Constitution as set forth, and will also seek to teach and propagate the doctrines contained in the Statement of Fundamental Truths.

01The Scriptures Inspired

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason.

02The One True God

The one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM" and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

03Man, His Fall and Redemption

Man was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression fell. His only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God.

04The Salvation of Man

Salvation comes through repentance toward God and faith in Christ. The inward evidence is the direct witness of the Spirit; the outward evidence is a life of righteousness and true holiness.

05Baptism in Water

The ordinance of baptism by immersion should be observed by all who have repented and believed in Christ as Savior and Lord, as an outward symbol of inner cleansing and resurrection life.

06The Lord's Supper

The Lord's Supper — bread and the fruit of the vine — expresses our sharing the divine nature of Christ, a memorial of His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming.

07Regeneration

All who turn from sin and put their faith in Christ receive new birth by the power of God's Holy Spirit, enabling them to live a holy life and be witnesses for Jesus Christ.

08The Promise of the Father

All believers are entitled to the promise of the Father — the baptism in the Holy Spirit. With it comes deeper spiritual life, the bestowment of gifts, and empowerment for ministry.

09Sanctification

Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, experienced in three ways: instant (positional), progressive (practical), and final — being fully set free from sin's presence at Christ's appearing.

10The Church

The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the Church written in heaven.

11Ministry and Evangelism

A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the evangelization of the world and the edifying of the body of Christ.

12Divine Healing

Deliverance from sickness is provided for us in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

13The Blessed Hope

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ, together with those alive at His coming, is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church.

14The Millennial Reign of Jesus

The revelation of Christ from heaven, the salvation of national Israel, and the millennial reign of Christ on earth are the scriptural promise and the world's hope.

15The Lake of Fire

The devil and his angels, and whoever is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire — the second death.

16The New Heavens and the New Earth

We look for new heavens and a new earth according to His promise, wherein dwells righteousness.

    Evolve Church — The corporate name is Evolve Church; its existence is perpetual.

    Purposes & Powers — Established to propagate the full Gospel, promote unity among God's people, and serve the community.
  • III
    Non-Profit — Organized under Wisconsin Non-Profit Corporation Law; assets dedicated to religious and charitable purposes.
  • IV
    Ordinances — Baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper are observed; child dedication and healing prayer are practiced.
  • V
    Membership — Open to all who believe in Christ and voluntarily hold to the fundamental doctrines. Members attend regularly, serve, and give.
  • VI
    Officers — Pastor (President), Vice-President, and Secretary-Treasurer, with a Board of Elders and Deacons. The Pastor holds final spiritual and administrative authority.
  • VII
    Meetings — Weekly worship services and an Annual Business Meeting at fiscal year-end. Special meetings may be called by the Pastor or by 3/4 membership petition.
  • VIII
    Finances — Funded by voluntary tithes and offerings. The Pastor oversees all financial activity; records kept in the church office.
  • IX–XV
    Governance — Includes departments, property, amendment processes (2/3 officer vote), 501(c)(3) organization, ordination standards, and dissolution provisions.
